94.7 The Pulse at events

Here are some recent events where The Pulse made an appearance.

Good Friday Appeal

The Good Friday Appeal Telephone RoomsBroadcasting live from the telephone rooms for the Geelong Good Friday Appeal, 94.7 The Pulse was pleased to cover the day as Geelong raised more than $300,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital.

This year was one of our better broadcasts with smooth transitions from studio to on-site and entertaining talk breaks that were at some times heartfelt or utterly hilarious. It was a great effort with a record 14.462 million dollars raised for the Royal Children’s Hospital, beating last year’s 13.8. The Geelong region dug even deeper than last year and raised an approximate $300,000. Thank you to all who donated.

Pako Festa

The Pako FestaPako Festa Annual Street Festival - since 1983

The Pako Festa is one of Victoria's premier multicultural Festivals. The festival is all about encapsulating the very essence of our nation - diversity, dynamism and colourfulness, and above all else cooperation, community inter-connectedness, creativity and promotion of our humanity.

Pako Festa sends a strong, powerful message in these troubled times we live in: our preparedness to interact with, work together and treat others with dignity and respect demolishes the walls of division and conflicts, bringing everyone together in a spirit of understanding, acceptance and celebrations of life. Pako Festa showcases cultural diversity - via a smorgasbord of cultural food, folk dancing, the famous Pako Parade, workshops, art exhibitions, multicultural craft displays and entertainment on four world music stages in a 1-kilometer street festival. The festival is an opportunity for local and regional cultural groups to promote cultural diversity and educate the broader community of the beauty and enriching capacity of multiculturalism.
